KVT Delivers Remote Ventilation System in the Falkland Islands

KVT Delivers Remote Ventilation System

A World-Class Project — 8,000 Miles from Home

Kitchen Vent Technical Ltd (KVT) recently completed a challenging and rewarding international project — delivering a full commercial kitchen ventilation solution for a new kitchen, bar, and restaurant facility in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands.

Working in collaboration with Space Design Consultancy, KVT was engaged by UK-based client Stanley Services, who were responsible for overseeing the development of the new hospitality space. The remote nature of the site, combined with the need for local installation by Falkland-based tradespeople, presented a unique set of technical and logistical hurdles.

Smart Solutions in a Remote Location

KVT’s involvement began with the selection of four ClearAir Spectrum Range canopies, complete with custom-designed closure panels to minimise airflow and enhance efficiency. Given the structural limitations and lack of a detailed site survey, KVT engineered a ventilation system that was:

  • Pre-designed for simple installation
  • Equipped with eight independent roof-curb mounted fans
  • Delivered with pre-engineered controls
  • Integrated with heated return supply-air, tailored to suit the local climate

Through a blend of online collaboration, detailed design drawings, photos, emails, and live guidance, KVT coordinated closely with the on-site team — ensuring a seamless installation process. A commissioning engineer was even dispatched to the Falklands to test and prepare the system for the official opening just one week later.

Why KVT Was the Right Fit

  • End-to-end design, manufacture, and supply of all equipment
  • Remote installation made easy through precise documentation and support
  • On-site commissioning engineer visit to ensure full system functionality
  • Reliable communication and partnership approach, even across time zones
  • And of course… KVT loves penguins!

Client Feedback

“I don’t think that we could have delivered this project without KVT coming on board.
The ventilation system was by far the most complex element of the project, with a multitude of penetrations that required a huge level of coordination with both the building’s structural elements and the planning authorities.
All of this was produced 8,000 miles away using old drawings and site photos supplied by the client! Another great service from KVT.”
