Spectrum…. In-Canopy, Grease & Odour, Control Systems By KVT

Technology in design……

When we designed SPECTRUM, we knew that the best way to apply UV to kitchen vent filtration was to position it within the canopy to destroy grease and odour as near to the source as possible. This is the only way to make the UVC radiation react directly with contaminants and burn off grease & odour particulate. Dirty air first passes through our high-efficiency centrifugal separators, then across our unique UV diffuser/reflector phase (which concentrates the UV-C radiation), then finally across the UV lamps before entering the ductwork. The end- result of this process is to destroy higher quantities of odour and grease than any other UV system available. The whole system employs compact technology and is entirely mounted within the canopy itself, avoiding the need for bulky, wall-mounted control cabinets.

Simple Efficiency

Grease separation is a vitally important aspect of any kitchen ventilation system. Therefore, every SPECTRUM canopy has KVT’s high efficiency grease separators fitted. Each SPECTRUM canopy section has a dedicated mini system, each complete with separate CPU slave unit and control interface panel. All systems are self- actuating and they shutdown automatically when fan systems are turned off. This makes the whole arrangement entirely user- friendly and requires minimal manual input from cooking staff, allowing them to get on with the real work in the kitchen! The cleaned air created by SPECTRUM then passes into the ductwork leaving minimal deposits, significantly increasing maintenance intervals and lowering emissions to atmosphere.

It works flawlessly & safely…

  • Spectrum positions the UV in such a way that it destroys more grease and odour than any ‘external plug-in unit’ ever can.
  • The cleaned air deposits less grease in the ductwork system and so extends maintenance intervals by up to 4 times.
  • The abatement of grease deposits in the ductwork, significantly lowers fire risk.
  • Grease separator panel interlocks (micro-switch & pressure switch) lower the risk of inadvertent exposure to UV.
  • Air monitoring provides emergency shutdown upon any system changes from default settings
  • Lamp diffuser prevents direct line of site with UV if other safety interlocks should fail.
  • Spectrum canopies available in all extract & supply-air configurations.
